3. Cookies, Pixels, and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers and advertising partners use cookies, pixels, web beacons, tags, software development tools, and other similar technologies to operate our websites, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use our websites, personalize content, measure advertising and marketing performance, and provide advertisements that may be relevant to your interests.

These technologies generally fall into the following categories:

  • Essential and functional technologies. These technologies support functions such as site navigation, account access, shopping carts, checkout, security, fraud prevention, and customer preferences.
  • Analytics and performance technologies. These technologies help us understand how visitors use our websites, identify technical issues, measure traffic and performance, and improve our Services. For example, we use services such as Google Analytics.
  • Advertising technologies. We and advertising partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to measure advertising campaigns, understand interactions with advertisements, create audiences, and deliver or assist in delivering advertisements on other websites and services. Our advertising partners may include companies such as Google, Meta (including Facebook and Instagram), and TikTok.
  • Personalization and marketing technologies. We use technologies to personalize customer communications and product recommendations and to support functions such as abandoned-cart reminders, back-in-stock notices, and other email and text marketing. These technologies may also help us associate activity on our websites with information held by us or our service providers.
  • Affiliate and social technologies. We may use technologies to operate affiliate, ambassador, referral, and social-media programs and to measure the performance of those programs.

Pixels and similar technologies are small electronic files or pieces of code that may be embedded in a webpage, advertisement, or electronic communication. They can allow us and third parties to determine whether a webpage or communication was viewed, measure interactions, recognize browsers or devices, and collect information about activity on our Services.

We use service providers and other third parties to support website functionality, analytics, advertising and campaign measurement, personalization, email and text communications, affiliate and referral programs, and related functions.  These providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies on our behalf or, where applicable, for their own purposes subject to applicable law and your privacy choices.  The providers and technologies we use may change from time to time.

Your Cookie Choices

You may manage available cookie and tracking preferences through the cookie settings tool available on our website. You can also modify browser settings to block or delete certain cookies, although doing so may affect website functionality.

Where required by applicable law, we treat recognized browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control ("GPC"), as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information associated with that browser or device.

Browser "Do Not Track" signals are different from legally recognized opt-out preference signals, and we may not respond to Do Not Track signals where not required by law.

4. Advertising and Analytics

We work with analytics and advertising providers to understand use of our Services, measure advertising effectiveness, create audiences, and advertise JAANUU products on other websites, applications, social media platforms, and digital services.

These providers may collect or receive identifiers, internet or network activity, device information, commercial information, and information about your interactions with our Services and advertisements. Depending on applicable law and the nature of our arrangements with these providers, certain disclosures of personal information for advertising purposes may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising."

You may exercise applicable opt-out rights through the Your Privacy Choices link on our website and through our cookie settings tool.

Even after you opt out of interest-based or targeted advertising, you may continue to receive advertisements that are not based on your activity across different businesses, websites, or services.

5. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers and contractors. We use providers that assist with e-commerce, website hosting, payment processing, order fulfillment, shipping, data hosting, customer support, communications, email and SMS messaging, analytics, fraud prevention, security, accessibility, loyalty programs, and other business functions.
  • Analytics and advertising partners. We may disclose information to companies that provide analytics, advertising, campaign measurement, attribution, audience creation, and related services.
  • Rewards, referral, and affiliate providers. We may disclose information to providers that operate or support rewards, referral, ambassador, and affiliate programs.
  • Social media platforms. When you interact with social media features or when we advertise through social media platforms, information may be disclosed to or collected by those platforms.
  • Professional advisors. We may disclose information to attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, consultants, and other professional advisors.
  • Government authorities and other parties for legal purposes. We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, legal process, or governmental requests; enforce our agreements; investigate fraud or security incidents; or protect the rights, property, or safety of JAANUU or others.
  • Business transactions. Personal information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or other corporate transaction.

We may also disclose information at your direction, with your consent, or as otherwise disclosed when the information is collected.

6. Customer Support and Chatbot

We use third party service providers to provide customer support, including chatbot and helpdesk functionality. If you communicate with us through these services, your messages and information associated with the conversation may be processed and stored by our service providers on our behalf.

Our service providers are restricted from using JAANUU chatbot conversations and associated customer data to train third-party foundation models or for unrelated independent purposes. Chatbot and customer-service conversations are currently stored in our service providers’ systems in the United States and may be retained as part of the customer-support ticket history for up to 12 months.

Please do not provide sensitive information through the chatbot unless it is necessary for us to assist you.

7. Rewards and Loyalty Program

JAANUU offers a rewards and loyalty program through which participating customers may receive points, discounts, rewards, exclusive offers, birthday benefits, and other benefits.

When you participate, we may collect and maintain loyalty-related information such as your points balance, loyalty or VIP status, referrals, rewards and redemption activity, engagement with the program, and optional preferences or birthday information.

Participation in the rewards program does not require you to agree to receive marketing email or text messages.

Our loyalty provider may integrate with our marketing service providers. For example, loyalty information such as points balances, loyalty status, referral activity, rewards, redemptions, and related events may be transmitted to Klaviyo so that we can segment communications and personalize marketing.

Notice of Financial Incentive

Certain aspects of our rewards program may constitute a “financial incentive” or “price or service difference” under California law because participants provide personal information in connection with receiving program benefits. Participation is voluntary. You may withdraw from the program at any time in accordance with the applicable program terms. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

8. Email and Text Messages

If you elect to receive promotional emails, you may unsubscribe by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the email.

If you elect to receive marketing text messages, you may opt out by replying STOP. You may receive service-related or transactional messages even if you opt out of marketing communications where permitted by law.

We do not disclose your SMS opt-in or consent information to third parties for their own unrelated marketing purposes. We may disclose that information to vendors that assist us in providing our messaging program and related services.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including providing products and services, maintaining customer accounts, processing transactions, maintaining appropriate business and financial records, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and abuse, and enforcing our agreements.

The retention period for particular information may depend on the nature of the information, why it was collected, legal or contractual requirements, and our legitimate business needs.

When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, we may delete, deidentify, or aggregate it in accordance with applicable law.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our online store is hosted through Shopify, which maintains PCI DSS compliance for payment processing infrastructure. Payment information may also be processed by other payment providers subject to their own security and privacy practices.

  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • appeal certain decisions concerning a privacy request, where provided by applicable law.
  • You may exercise available privacy rights through our Your Privacy Choices page or by contacting us as described below.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. You may also use an authorized agent where permitted by applicable law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
