World Ocean Day: Our Impact So Far

World Ocean Day: Our Impact So Far

Every day, healthcare professionals show up to care for others. This World Ocean Day, we’re reflecting on how we can extend that same mindset of care to the world around us, including our oceans.

So far, we’ve helped prevent 14,748 lbs. of plastic from entering the environment.

That number represents plastic waste that was collected and recovered before it could reach waterways and marine ecosystems through our partnership with CleanHub.

Why This Partnership Matters

At JAANUU, sustainability is still a journey. We know there’s more work ahead, and we’re continuing to learn where we can make the greatest impact. One area we’re proud to support is our partnership with CleanHub, an organization focused on preventing plastic waste from reaching the ocean by supporting waste collection in high-impact coastal communities.

CleanHub works directly with areas that are most affected by plastic pollution, helping fund collection systems that recover waste before it can enter rivers, waterways, and ultimately the ocean.

Progress, Not Perfection

World Ocean Day is a reminder that meaningful progress rarely happens all at once. More often, it’s built through:

  1. Intentional choices: Looking for practical ways to reduce environmental impact across our business.

  2. Transparent partnerships: Working with organizations that can deliver measurable outcomes.

  3. Continuous improvement: Recognizing that sustainability is an ongoing process, not a finished destination.

Our partnership with CleanHub is one example of that approach. It’s not the whole solution, but it’s a concrete step that contributes to measurable waste recovery today while we continue exploring additional ways to reduce our environmental footprint.

Inspired by the Ocean

For us, the ocean isn’t only a sustainability conversation. It’s also a source of inspiration. Colors from our collection like Ocean, Surf, and Marina are designed to capture the calm, depth, and energy that water brings to everyday life in healthcare.

Whether worn during long shifts, quick coffee runs, or moments in between, these hues are meant to feel fresh, grounded, and connected to something bigger.

Looking Ahead

As we continue growing, we’re committed to exploring thoughtful, responsible ways to reduce our environmental impact. That means asking better questions, building stronger partnerships, and measuring progress over time.

This World Ocean Day, we’re proud to support organizations creating measurable change, grateful for the healthcare community that continues to care deeply about the world around us, and motivated to keep moving forward—one intentional step at a time.
